Mine is. I think Vanagons are fun daily drivers. It gets better mpg than my truck and it looks cooler. Smile
What about your van?
I'm courious as to how many people really drive there van every day vs. just parking until a camping trip comes up.

I have an '84 7 passenger that's been pretty much of a daily driver since I got it in '91.

I've had my '85 Westy since 2002, which is indeed a daily driver. It now has just over 210,000 miles on it. As we speak, I'm installing a Boston Bob rebuilt 2.1 engine. The old 1.9 still runs smooth, starts easily, idles well, gets 21 mpg (by GPS) at 63 mph, but burns about a quart of 20W-50 every 500 miles. It's just tired and time to rebuild or replace.

One is, one isn't. I drive a `87 Sunroof Syncro daily, our `87 Westy Syncro is only driven during the Summer months, mostly for camping trips.

Nearly impossible to keep two cars on the street in NYC, so yup. Drive it every day, even if just around the corner to another parking space.
Alternate side parking and all...

despite heavy la traffic i drive my 85 GL every day.

i can whip it around corners better than my gf's acura rsx.

it gets about 20 mpg..

and theirs rarely a time u can go above 70 mph on our freeways ANYWAY...

so it works for me... pls its fun.. and people look at you.. haha

oh and love driving over curbs and exit medians on the freeway.. high clearance rocks.. and people get a kick out of seeing a big ass van hop up over curbs.

It's pretty much my daily driver half the year. When the weather is decent, I ride my bike to work. When I don't ride, I drive the van. Fortunately, it is a short commute. I probably don't put more than 6 or 7 thousand miles a year including 3 each June driving to Colorado.

When running it is my daily driver. I much prefer the driving position and the ability to see over most of the other traffic. Also it will haul all 4 kids and or friends Smile

Not a daily driver, but a frequent driver. It is my primary vehicle after my company car which I use for commuting. Very Happy

can't really vote, I drive it whenever. I have a non VW vehicle that drive for work, I normally drive one of the VW's when not working, just depends on what I feel like driving. Usually I drive it more round town in the summer cause I can run the A/C.

I drive my Vanagon whenever I drive but I get around by bicycle mostly. I guess that doesn't make it my daily driver but it is my go to vehicle.

Ours is the tent with wheels. When we need a tent we drive it. Otherwise it sits.
