Well , I bought a Care Free of Colorado awning and it works just fine. I would buy a 10' wide though

Thanks for the recommendation on size. What type of hardware did you need to use? Did you have to do any bolting to the body? |

I have some brackets that fit on the gutter rail for mounting the box. The rear leg can mount on the van when extended, with a bracket, or on the ground. The front can only be mounted on the grond as the leg would hit in the middle of the door. This has not been a problem as I prefer the legs to be on the ground and staked in.

GoWesty has the cheapest price but it's the shipping cost that really gets you. I picked mine up at the factory in Orlando. I have the 8 footer and it works well. I have mounts for both feet attached to the van if I want to use it that way. GoWesty has the best price on the attachment brackets and are very beefy and stout. It is an incredible awning. Very easy to use and can be opened as far or as little as you need. |

Have you looked at the Dometic Catalina by A&E??
They seem very similar and cheaper $458 plus the bracket kit.
I wish I there was someone that has seen both up close to tell us the difference.
I'd gladly pay more money if it that much better.

I purchased a 10ft. Fiamma 45i at a local RV dealer for $295 a couple of years ago. The awning material was a discontinued color (Rose)...I've passed along this tip to a few others who were also able to get one at a discount if you don't mind having last years, or an odd, color. My local RV dealer mentioned to me that every so often Fiamma discontinues a particular color and then sells them at a discount through RV dealers. Good luck. |
