**UPDATE** June 22nd Huntington Beach State Beach 10:00am till ?
So Calif Owners!! Let get a date and a place going. Must be an easy place to get to.(Not to far off a freeway.) And must have plenty of parking. Last year 14,15 vans showed up. We need enough parking spaces to park all the vans TOGETHER.
My thought is if we do the beach again, and it being almost summer, the largest parking lot I know of is Huntington Beach State Beach. If it is hot on the day we pick then some places along the beach will fill up.
I also can see then with school almost out some of you may be going on vacation or leaving town. I hope a we can find a date to get the most vans to show up.
My BBQ is open for anyone to use at the VGT .

Huntington is a bit far for me, but I'll be there if it's a weekend. Weekday would probably not work. _________________ '85 Wolfsburg Weekender |

Doheny worked out pretty well because it was halfway between L.A. and San Diego. San Onofre is always good or San Clemente State Park. _________________ -Kerry

Kerry does Doheny fill up when it gets hot?
This will be on a Sat or Sun for sure. _________________

I'm in! I enjoyed our last two gatherings a lot, I think it's time for another one. I'm pretty open as to location, and don't mind driving a little ways (as long as we're not talking hours). _________________ 1980 Vanagon L Westy (176,200)

Doheny was fine last year. But somewhere else in that general vicinity would work too. _________________ Alan

Doheny has parking, OK, but North Beach Doheny is listed among the top 10 worst beaches for water quality in California ~ could we go somewhere that me 'n the kid can get in the water?
My vote is for Huntington, FWIW. I've also enjoyed both the Newport and Balboa piers, and both have reasonable parking if you get there early (Balboa tends to be better for that).
I get the impression that 70Coupeyel (aka Glenn) spends a fair amount of time in the water, as do others, so maybe the surf guys can focus on the good water spots...?
Anyway, I don't have any lights, but we'll figure it out by the time it's time ~ I'm in.
Best,
Lanval

Sounds great. My vot is for Huntington (I'm a cheap kid that lives in Huntington) If it's Huntington I'll be there for sure and I'll get there earlier for a nice surf sesh. There's a fun 2-4 west swell. I surfed this morning at the cliffs and it was fun and it should pick up better on Sunday.
See you there,

Sounds great. Now I have to wash my van!
What tower? I say we go as far down towards Magnolia as we can so it doesn't get black balled out to early. _________________ 1990 Vanagon Carat-SOLD

Fine I'll do it
Let us know date and time, and a location would help. I am not at all familiar with HB, except from the 405. _________________ '85 Wolfsburg Weekender |
