Ignition switch problem

When I go to start my car there is no "on" position, it just gets juice when Im turning it over and as soon as I let go it stops giving power to the coil and the car doesnt run.

Should I just buy this?

Yes, if you have a 68-70 Beetle and this just suddenly happened.
