I have replaced the fuel lines in the engine compartment ( the urge finally came ) using the Van Cafe kit with no problem. As I do not know how tight these clamps are suppose to be, I just tighten them to the point I feel comfortable.
My issue is that there is a small leak at the fuel rail clamp after a few hundred miles. I tighten the leaky one a little more to stop the leak. In order not to have this problem again, I remove the Injection pump relay and jumper the contact so the pump is running without cranking the engine and all is fine. Just to be sure, I clamp the return line to increase the pressure and a few of the joints that were OK before start leaking ! I re-tighten those and now all is fine with the increased pressure.
It appear to me increasing the fuel pressure may be a good way to get the right tightness of the clamps. If there is no leak at higher pressure, there will be less of a chance to have a leak at normal pressure.
Has any body measured the max pressure with the return clamped ? I can not find it in the Bently manual. _________________ Steve

Thanks,
Found the write up in the sticky for the air cool engine. The 2.1 probably has the same characteristic. _________________ Steve
