Sitting in front of me I didn't realize what radical rims they really are. One day I hope to have my own set.

I know I will be taken out and shot for this, but I don't like them, I don't like how the spokes stick out like that. Don't get me wrong quality of workmanship that went into these is awesome, and the quality of the final product is excellent, but the rim itself reminds me of a rim that was popular in the 90's in the honda accord crowd, had the same kind of offset on the spokes. _________________ my 56 build thread

That's the exact look I was going for when I had them made.
No one is going to shoot you though.

I'll second that. Not a big fan.
Funny thing, I have a friend in hawaii (of all places) who bought a set of 4.5s and deep 6's in which on one of my many return trips home to so cal I had them chromed at a shop in OC. Later I picked them up and took them back to the island with me. The dude was super stoked to get them back. He mounted tires on them and bolted them up to his straight as glass black oval. Couldn't get over the look of them lookng like a Wal-Mart hubcap, he took them off and sold them. _________________ 1959 Ragtop Beetle - sold

You have to see the "King Crab" mounted on the car in person to appreciate this wheel even more. At a recent V.W. event people who owned 4.5's were taking a double take when checking out the front wheels on my car, they were looking at the lack of dish on the wheels ( I think they were saying " what the f---?") . |
