You have a split bus, you're already cool.

no, not really..lowering a bus can be costly however you look at it.

read the FAQ at the top of this forum...it will tell you everything you need to know. If it doesnt...use the search function for all your unanswered questions.

Best advice I can give. Whenever you're working with either the suspension or the brakes on your bus. Don't ever try to do it skimp on it and do it on a budget. Spend the money and do it right. When you do the suspension, it'll only hurt once.

Once I get rid of my Mango,Im getting a Single Cab and hopefully, dropping it the right way.

Im guessing $1000 for the rear,$500 for the front and you cant forget about $500 for Safaris.

Am I way off??

On a budget dropped spindles are good, straight axle (SA) is right too but you could do it cheaper with an SA kit if you shop for a transmission or even (gasp) re-using your own transmission with a flipped diff. But like Andrew said if you're in there you may as well do it right.

As far as the front end, it really depends on the condition of your suspension parts right now. I was lucky with mine, my spindles were in great condition when I had them flipped. After new tie rod ends and a drag link the Bus drives nicely.
The straight axle kit isn't too bad if you find a used trans for a good price.
Of course, if you're really on the cheap, you can use the RGBs for a while, just not very low.

Oh, I forgot to add, if you are a total Bus (and VW) novice, I would advise to just make sure your Bus is running and driving safely as it is and get your feet wet with it before you get into something like lowering.

I think I paid about 1300 quids for hayden at panelkraft to lower my bus, I have a something welded into the front beam and a SA kit with a 1500 beetle box at the back.
I don't know his number but if you are anywhere near Letchworth near stevenage then you wont find anyone better, hes the guy with the slammed yellow german post panel van which seems to win awards just for driving into a show

you can do drop spindles in the front, and readjust your rear springplates a couple notches to match the front end, even with redux boxes. total cost about $200 and some time
