Moved driving lights back behind the over-rider bars and refinished the rims.

Lovely Ghia, kurt. Perfect front bumper alignment. Overall stance is appealing- slightly lowered but level. How did you achieve that? Adjustable front beam and slight rear torsion bar realignment? Or was the rear already perfectly set due to "age sag"? I looked at a few other photos of it in your gallery. Have you fitted the F&R HD sway bars? I don't immediately recognize the front lic. plate... could it be M for Madrid, Spain? |

Hi, I think I'm just picking the right photos- the car is actually about an inch higher in the rear. Stock beam and I have not re-indexed the torsion bars on this car. I did in fact install 3/4 inch sway bars front and back. And the plate is Spanish (lived there for a few months back in the Eighties) but I purchased them off E-bay. _________________ 1964 MG Midget MK1 Monte Carlo Replica

Tried closing the door gap at the front of my doors, no go. Screamed and swore a bit. Did a dry check of my wiring, some lights came on, flashers flashed (Hazards), one headlight worked, wipers rotated, horn went off and almost blew my eardrum because I just happen to have my head stuffed down into the spare tire area checking the horns. Horn still honks when I connect the ground wire.
Checked that whole set up again and read the entire Sticky on horns, yet they still go off when I flip the key......will attempt going through everything 4-5 more times....
On the positive, some lights worked and nothing melted down, so there's a chance!

Hehe, we're doing stuff at the same time. Just a small tip, for troubleshooting the horn wiring.....Just connect a voltage meter (that beeps), or a test light, instead of the horns.....
I did this on my Bug so that I could really troubleshoot in peace _________________ Vlad's 72 Ghia (Once in a Lifetime Restoration topic)

Thanks for the tip Vlad, will try that....but still need to track down why the horns are going off at the connection point and not at the steering wheel....something is grounded or not grounded correctly if I can decipher the troubleshooting instructions.

Finally got my headliner installed. TMI Vinyl Perforated Headliner. Was a tedious task, but I am more than pleased with the result. It does have clips o n front/rear, but it is all glues in. Should be installing glass this weekend.

My wife's 1970 Ghia came with a non-functional AM radio. She wanted to listen to her high-school mix tapes while driving. Took many hours to digitize the tapes but then added this $19 bluetooth amp with a cherry friction-fit plate and an on/off switch. Works like a charm and man was it cheap

Very cool idea! What's the plug in port for, connecting the phone/IPOD, headphones?? Would be much easier to plug in some ear buds when driving a convertible without having to blast the speakers!

Installed F/R Windshields. Cal-Look seals from West Coast Metric. Purchased seals easily 8 years ago. Been in a bag ever since and no complaints. Rear window took 3 different tries to get it acceptable to my father and mine standards. I guess from learning what not to do during rear install, the front windshield took one try. We used string wrapped around entire seal on the outer grove and one on the inner groove. |

The weather finally dried out enough for a nice Memorial weekend cruise. The local Cars n Coffee felt good enough!
I got to test the tach I got from ISP West. I like it! The clock it replaced is sitting on my bench waiting for a rainy day repair. I might find a way to display it on my desk.

Fabricated one block off plate for the intake manifold EGR port, and fab'd another plate for the coolant line elbow from back of cylinder head to heater...

Just did a new Generator and voltage regulator (boring I know) but also added a type 3 full circle horn ring which I've wanted for a while.
Probably influenced by the other daily driver...

Replaced 48 year old brake hoses.
New hoses from Denmark/Germany?
New/Old
One of the hard line tubing nuts did not want to come off. Broke my wrench on it.
Hard line that would not come off. Used a torch to heat it up, it came off.
Cracked all over.
Since the old hard line tubing nut is all FU. I decieded to order new hard lines.
