I used to have a postcard, but I can’t find it. Someday I will go through the local paper archives, Salinas Californian, to try and find some. I remember going to the dealership used car lot with my older brother when he was looking for his first car, in 1971. He found this 67 down the street at the Ford dealership used car lot. A woman traded it in for a new Pinto!

I found this postcard for Albert Berry Motors in Houston Texas. I thought people would enjoy.

This is the old Don Sharp dealership in Oceanside, it was Smokey’s speed shop until 10 years ago, now it has multiple businesses in it now.

This is the dealership I found these bathroom signs at years ago when it was the speed shop and my friend worked there, the bubbleheads were filled with ink as you can see but I cleaned them up the best I could without causing too much damage.

I’ll get a better picture of the dealership since I’m moving very close to it.

They said it was "in the way." How does a tree that was there before white men settled the area "get in the way"? It was there first!

Next they tried the "it's diseased and a safety threat" excuse. Nope, I took photos of the sawed off trunk and there was NO disease (actually unusual for one that age).

So it was greed, pure and simple.

I wonder if there were any dealer artifacts stuck in any of the buildings, in attics, closets, behind walls? We never got a chance to see.

I don’t understand the point... what are they gonna do, build another shop? Ridiculous, just use what they have and preserve the history. New dealerships are ugly anyway, same design with different logos, no style anymore.

It was rezoned and then torn down to build apartments, including 11 low-rent units. The valley here has about 150,000 residents... do you think 11 units puts a dent in the so-called "housing shortage"? (which is fake anyway)

Squinting at the dealer license and the letters at the top of the frame, I would guess Rival Motors.

It will grow back, maybe somewhere else, unlike that building.

Yeah, but it will take about 350 years. Our society is not looking to last that long, either...

We had a dealer in Pensacola, FL, Pinckney VW. My Dad bought a green 1968 Beetle Autostick. I bought a 1974 Sun Bug. It's still a VW Dealership, but it is now Pete Moore VW. But they won't service Air Cooled. They can't even balance a wide 5 wheel!
