Hi,
Had my engine out for a month or so. Is back in and getting it all put back together.
So am wondering if I need to polarize the gen, if so how? - as later bugs do not have the regulator on top of the gen.
Do I remove the wires I just put on and connect pos battery terminal to where the red wire connects to the reg? and neg battery post to body of gen?
I know on the later bugs, the gen would spin when hooked up like this to the battery...
Thanks
And this photo is out of date (but is for reference), as I have the correct gen pulley to put on now. _________________ 1955 3-fold semaphore Oval beetle

| If the generator was not rebuilt or disassembled then no need to polarize it just because it sat for a while |

OK, that is good to know.
Though it has been many years since I read it, I thought Muir said to polarize if disconnected for any period of time. I will find out!
Thanks again. _________________ 1955 3-fold semaphore Oval beetle
