Greetings
I would suggest you read the start of this thread back to 2008. I wrote detailed instructions on rebuilding these heaters. If it has not been rebuilt, it could be a number of issues. It is usually either the glow plug wiring or the fuel pump.
Good luck _________________ When you turn it on, does it return the favor?

So, I've rebuilt my B2 heater and everything is good except that I am missing the intake tube that goes in the fender well...
64bug's photo as reference.
Does anyone know where I can find one? I've been looking everywhere with no luck. It's the only piece that I need to set up my heater properly. I looked into having one made, but I haven't found anyone local yet that kind do that tight of a radius on the bend.

Greetings cn63bug
Don't get your hopes up, but I may have one in my box of heater parts. I will let you know tonight when I get home from work. _________________ When you turn it on, does it return the favor?

Hey 64bug,
That would be great if you do have one. Please let me know. It's been a bear to try and find anyone that can bend the pipe for me.

Hi all,
I have a B2 in my 67 .. someone converted the beetle to 12v but didn't do anything about the 6v eberspacher.
I did not realise and it was working fine but then blew the fuse in the main fuse box. there was no other fuse between this and the heater. I then tried running it through a voltage regulater that was converting 12v to 6v and absolutely nothing happened. It did not blow the fuse again but didn't switch on either.
Does anyone have any ideas? |

" everything is good except that I am missing the intake tube that goes in the fender well... "
"Air intake tube" ? isn't that the exhaust outlet that goes to the fender? I think it gets its 'intake air' from under the hood ...doesn't it?
I just stumbled across this thread, so I have read it all so I don't know if this was covered, but .....back in the day, I had a 1968 Beetle and couldn't find a 12v gas heater, so I installed a 6v unit. I put a 6v battery under each side of the rear seat and ran the the gas heater off one battery and the rest of the car's electrics off the two connected together. I can't remember how I did the wiring, but I'm sure someone on the forum could explain. So ...in the case of running a 12v heater in a 6v system, couldn't the same idea be applied?? _________________ "If you can't fix it with pop rivets, crazy glue and duct tape, or hold it together with zip ties, velcro or magnets, it REALLY is broken." |

Your voltage converter doesn't work because it doesn't put out enough power. It's likely limited to a small current output.
If you ran your 6V heater on 12V, you have probably damaged things like the fan, glow plug, series resistor, pump, etc. that were all designed to run on 6V. All of these components need to be changed for 12V versions. The most economical way to find them is to buy another heater body that has them. Then you throw away your junk 6V heater and put the 12V heater in. _________________

Hello I'm french ! Happy New Year
I own a ladybug of 1963 equipped with an eberspacher 200 B2
When I pull the zipper the fan turns the candle heats (I put my hand on the corp of the candle)
But no heating! I hear no clic clic clic
No red light in cockpit!
I did test ladybug at the stop!
Do you have to wait how long before heat release or pump activation
(The pump membrane is clean)
thanks in advance

Hello
I still test my B2 6 volt eberspacher! The pump made no noise so I removed the pump and cleaned the connections and electrodes!
And direct drill on battery for test and super it works again (click click)
I have everything replaced on eberspacher, but it does not arrive to aspier fuel of the reservoir .... nevertheless it does well click click and the candle heats!
Must there be a minimum of fuel in the tank (10 liters)
Have you facebook to communicate and send photos
thank you |

Have you tested that the your fuel pump is actually pulling gas from the tank. If not you might fill up your glass filter to prime it. Also make sure no other electrics are on when you start it and take the rpm's up until red light goes on. |

But I will start eberspacher on a bench, not in the car

Good evening thomas I confirm my Eberspacher is complete and it does not have the case to decrease the tension of candle as on the B2 12 volts
My candle is a 194 grn and not THE 194 GRNS ... |

The 12 and 6 volt b2 use the same glow plug. The spring looking piece that hooks to your glowplug regulates it to 4 volts. |

Good evening voila I found in france on occasion a eberspacher B2 12 Volts
When it will be time to pass the car in 12 volts I will be able to recover two three parts of the b2 6 volts to adapt everything
Meanwhile the 6 volts works!
But I have a question ???
What is the difference between LA BERU 194 GRN AND LA BERU 194 GRNs ?? |

I'm pretty sure there the same seeing how they both take 4 volts to run. There may have been an improvement made and they added the letter to make note of it. I used one out of a 12 volt in my 6 volt and it worked the same. The truth is I never noticed the extra letter until you mentioned it and always understood the 12 & 6 volt were the same.
edit.. I went and looked at the new spare glow plugs I have, one is white one is pink . They both are 194grns and the one in my car has to be the same as the pink 194grns. So if you are wondering about purchasing I would go ahead . |
