From the rosey hue, it appears to be Polar Silver, but with the dim lighting, it's hard to tell. It may be the original color, but highly unlikely to be original paint. The VW metallics of the mid-late fifties, while very striking and beautiful, held up to the sun and elements about as well as a cardboard house in a rainstorm Confused . BTW, since I love ovals, too, I ain't gonna mention anything about this being in the wrong forum Shhh

Update... I just noticed that it cannot possibly be original paint, as the fender bead is also body colored. In '57, the fender bead should be black (along with the running board mats and bumper supports). Likely the original color, but not paint. It looks like a worty candidate for further inspection Wink

I'll stick with Polar Silver as my guess. If it were Diamond Green, it would look green during the day. Either way, either color is nice Wink

To know the original color fer sher, is to get a BC from Stiftung. They ususally are correct with respect to the interior and exterior colors.

(all this oval talk is making me miss my Strato Silver '56 Crying or Very sad )
