Hi,

Does anyone use an oil drain valve like these?

Review of product:

(I'm not pimping this product, I merely read the above review and was curious.)

Not sure of your engine type, but I'd be leary of adding one of these to a vanagon. It would be suspended where it could be damaged and then leak the oil out.

Yep, that was my main concern as well.
The lower dangle angle would not be good for rocky back roads.
(BTW, I have a stock 2.1 engine.)

I've used something very much like this on my '84 Rabbit GTI for close to 20 years and 100,000 miles. I installed it after needing a new oil pan from the drain hole having been damaged, probably before I bought the car. Haven't seen these for sale in years, assumed they'd been taken off the market. I've had no trouble with it and it sure makes oil changes easy.

But... I probably wouldn't use one on my Vanagon. The GTI engine drain plug points to the rear, so ground clearance isn't such an issue.
