The owner said slight
Melted rear window, head liner gone, sun visers toasted.
By slight I guess they ment it still resembles a VW bettle.
This is a flat window 71 super(with struts)........Did a search and came up with no info....
I have never put a baja kit on a super??
Does a regular close eye Baja kit fit the front end? |

I bet the "firewall" is deformed and the rest of the sheetmetal is a mess.
Forget it. _________________ Glenn

I just kind of laughed at first at the $500 price tag
Then after some thought??
It has a clear title SO I offered $100
I'm in no hurry to get another car in the driveway, just figured in this 115 degrees heat for $100 I could make a buck on it in parts (trans, rear arms, torsion housing, title etc)
Wish I took the camera....It's a mess.
If the owner takes the $100
I'll put up some pictures for reference to help others. |

You realize a Super has STRUTS and no torsion beams...
Cutting front end sheet metal does have consequences on strength - Strut supports.

I have a 71 super that is being turned into a baja. Cutting the framehead and replacing it with the standard framehead. I don't think the baja kit mounts any differently then a standard one, but you have to buy one for a super beetle. _________________ 1971 Baja Bug

What???
Just Kidding Yes I know
I hoped it would be a beam car when I looked at it.
Just thinking outside of the box.....I have a guy looking for a cheap/free car, but If I get the car it will become parts for something else.
The kicker here is I just threw out a 70 pan bulk head last week
Seroiusly, I just cant keep everything (says my better half) |
