I got an 87 Yamaha Razz a few years ago that I just threw in the shed. Other day I took it out to begin rebuilding it.
Has only 800 miles on it, I rebuilt the carb, fixed a few little odds and ends here and there. I've painted it, added the rear carrier from an electric scooter I got as a gift and the charger died, replaced the seat cover which I recovered myself for $3 with weather proof vynil, About $50 later this is what it looks like: Does 35mph flat out (which isn't bad, new they did about 30-32). I put an Italian high perf intake on it from my old pocket bike that it didn't fit on, and drilled out the muffler. Once I get taller tires it should do 37 or so. Not bad for free + $50.
Picture of the speedo, the needle is sitting in the line after the 30MPH mark. And I also did have the GPS on my phone telling me it was 35mph, lol.

I put 6000 miles on this and enjoyed every minute of it. Sadly back problems forced me to sell it late last year. Great mileage and lots of fun. |

Heres mine its a 2007 MADASS 49cc with a big bore kit, header and a few other goodies! Full size motorcycle tires, duel disc brakes, adjustable mono-shock,in frame gas tank and only weighs 195 lbs. Quick, handles fantastic and gets 80+ mpg. With the big bore kit it gets it pretty good!
Best riding scooter on the market and only $1800.00 if you can find one.

I have two yellow cadys, one good one in great shape, and another as more of a parts moped.
We take them camping with us and the bus. _________________ 66 Bus

wouldn't it be nice if some moderator could take the time to sort this thread and remove everything that is NOT a moped by technical definition.
if he/she was feeling generous they could open a new thread with all the 21st century twist and go scooters that so many seem to like. |

I have been on 2 wheels longer than I have been on 4, as soon as I got my permit I worked for a machine shop to pay for my first, a tomos 2 speed, traded that for a YZ80, and got a spree in a trade, rode that for a winter, than traded it for a Yamaha Riva 80, which I modified with a better flowing exhaust, integrated rear signal lights, blue LED lights in the headlight housing, and a 12o'clock bar. That thing was quick, and I rode it and stunted it everywhere, even rode it to the DMV to take my written license test. My buddy has a passport c70, which is now sitting in his yard. I was the last one to ride it. A little story, I was riding the passport daily as my friend needed his truck back ( he let me use his truck to get around as he didnt want to pay for the gas, he is a great friend), anyway, I was bringing my girlfriend to work, and we were coming around a slight down hill corner, around 40mph. The back tire clipped a sunk in man hole and blew out, causing the rear end to drift sideways, eventually landing on its left side. I ended up crouching down on the right side sliding on it down the road, but my gf was tossed off, all I remember was turning back and seeing her rolling down the road. The 'ped came to a stop and I jumped off, and though she was still alive, she now has a plate and 10 screws in her ankle. All I got was a cut on my left hand from the grip, and my left kneecap was ground down a bit, and had a nice hole there for a while. Police said that once the bike touched down, it slid 37 feet. Sorry about the long post, just thought it fit here. Heres some pics of the 'peds/scooters.
The Tomos, after riding it through a mud pit to bring a shovel to my buddy who was stuck.
The spree with my old cat wanting a ride.
The riva, before the 12 bar, as well as before the engine went ( broke a ring in the top end)
My buddy on his passport, as we shared our passion for mopeds, we now both have bugs. _________________ 1972 super beetle

Had a Honda PA50 for a number of years. It never ran right and refused to go over 30Km/Hr. If you opened the throttle any more, it would just sputter and loose speed. Couldn't figure it out. Then I got a car...
Wouldn't mind having a Honda Cub though. (I know it's not a moped) _________________ '71 Tin Top Westfalia

Nice score, the run a Puch engine by bombardier, if you need any parts for it it is easy to find Puch parts, and there is lots of performance stuff for the Puch _________________ 66 Bus
