My sealed beam headlights recently burned out so I was on the lookout for some replacements. I was keen to switch to non-sealed and since I am in Europe I want a proper bulb fitting for the city/side lights. I came across these units which were £30 for a pair shipped.
They are made in Germany and fit perfectly. They feel quality too and the rubber boots on the back of the bulbs to keep water out were an unexpected bonus. Item can be found here:

Does anyone know, maybe i just cant search right, if there any vendor that sells the fan shroud fasteners all in one kit, since there are several different sized and lengths going on? _________________ Tilda the Mustard Tigress 1973 Squareback (o'''^'''o)

I wouldn't assume that all of the Autopal branded lights you find will be like that. Most of their lights ive seen are manufactured in India. |

Does this count as a decent deal for bus parts (if it is in fact from a VW bus)

Yes, the whine threads are good for questions too.
I do wonder if the tubing is the same size so it could be cut up to fix a rusty Bus seat base.
Probably not though, it's probably not metric-size tubing _________________ How to Post Photos

Seems like early seats are 20mm tubing. Looks too thick. One can buy real metric sized tubing from McMaster. I'm trying to figure out how to bend it without collapsing!

Why can't you use something like a conduit bender?

I know about conduit bending. A Master Electrician going on 40 years! we need way sharper tighter radius bends than 1/2 EMT conduit benders. I think they are 6". Need more like 3" I'd be willing to fabricate something. _________________ Al Brase

isn't there a trick where you fill the tube with sand before bending to keep it from collapse? |

Yep, pretty simple technique known to motorcycle builders as the "Yoshimura" technique (named after one of the famous exhaust builders).

At $5K, this seems like a pretty good deal if you wanna do a little work. I've seen a lot more money being asked for a lot less Bus.
What's missing though, are pics of the rust "in all the usual places." I'm not sure what the seller's interpretation of that statement means (surface, cancer, missing metal?). And curiously, no pic of the left side.

This auction of a 1972 Westy shell. Had a lot of rust right under the sliding door and other wise pretty clean.
$267
WHAT?
I guess that's what they are worth?
I like 72's. I was asleep.
