I also added few goodies here and there:
56 texas license plate + front toper plate, NOS beauty rings with X patern, right hand side albert mirror and original stone guard that came from a 356 speedster.
By the end of the month the split case transmission should also be restored and ready for many years of additional services.

ditch the headlight grills, the rest looks great on this car- just hard to see a truly original vintage car all blinged out tijuana style. keep it simple- thats the beauty of your car! _________________ Official 58-60 "Early Big Window" Convertible Thread & Registry

For me one of the great beauties of the pre-67 Beetles was the glass covers over the headlights. I think you want to call attention to those and not cover them up with the grills...but you also want to invest in a few spare headlight covers just in case some day a rock punches a hole in one of them. _________________ Central Jersey VW Society

Having been on the receiving end of a great find I can say congatulations! Enjoy the car and make it your own. The fun part is going through it and finding out what was done and not done to it. NICE! Come on summer! |

Are you able to run Texas plates in Canada? If not I can help you unload those for a reasonable price Did you get the plates from a guy in San Antonio. I got mine from him and lost his contact info. I need some more. |
