The fuel sending unit has a violet/blk wire and a brown wire going to it. What wire goes where on the fuel sending unit plug: what one goes right and what one goes left?

These wire were prev. cut(not by me). Some one spliced 2 blk wires at the plug so i am unsure of their orientation. The 1.8t swap is damb near done and this is one of the things i am working on before i bolt in engine/ trans asembly. Thanx in advance.

Do you have a Bentley? the answer is in there...

Ground is the brown wire and the Gauge wire is the violet/black.

As a suggestion, get your meter, check and see if one pin is common to the body of the unit. If not, then it is shielded from the metal. The other test is to hook it up one way, and look at your gauge. If it reads backwards (full when empty) the hook it the other way. It is a resistor with a wiper to pick off position.

Gad you got it - above I thought you had a better angle on seeing it, you did ask which one went right and which went left. Wink
