Yeeeea, we should prolly watch the VanWilder "Death Burner" one more
time. I can get about 10-15 degrees of additional heat from this contraption. And yes I do a a C02 Alarm.

And whos Vanagon weighs 5100 lbs empty? VanWilder weighs 4,000 empty and I only had an extra 400 lbs for the Nehalem Bay campout. |
Yeah, but, perhaps you missed the best part...

Yes The Biolite is bad ass and can charge electronics indeed. But will it keep the inside of your vanagon warm on those freezing nights? No, I really wanted internal heat in the vanagon and for that you need to vent the exhaust outside. I would like to have one of those though just for fun and for emergencies. I am going to make a Climber John model, Campstove XL. I have made several wood gas stoves just not one with a fan in it.
*poof* off to my laboratory. _________________ VW

So, JC, are you in for Sunday @ 14:00 hours, Lucky Lab 1945 NW Quimby?

Lucky Lab on Sunday sounds perfect. I'd love to put some faces to names and raise a pint with you all. PDX Westy, if you do have the trim that goes on the bottom of the driver door that would be super cool. |
VG, let me know if you need those floppy mirrors and front bumper.
Looks like Shootingfish, Carterzest +1 kid likely, possibly 2, Dangerbus, VermontGirl....... Let me know if anyone else is bringing wife/kids as that may change my wifes mind

I will be there with the new "Turbo Fire" or perhaps the "Tornado Fire" Wood Gas Stove. Patent Pending. Another mad VW project. It is a Climber John esque knock off. Fun to make though. I am almost finished. $15.00 in materials.
On another topic:
I need Grommets for the "T"s on my vapor tubes on top of my gas tank. Anyone no where to buy Gas impervious Grommets? _________________ VW

No kids/wife will be accompanying me
However, if any of you have moulding for the driver side door bottom (pref kind of silvery) that would be RAD. I will be driving to Seattle to pick up a door so may be a little late but I'll be there!

Yeah, 1621 needs to get on a plane to Portland, get his van outta storage and make it to the Lab! (Or he could just tell me where to find his van )
As for me, not sure if I can make it.
Here is something else I have been pondering:
What do you all think about an early April get together at the White River Sno Park on the east side of Mt. Hood? I take my daughter sledding up there and there is always a tailgating scene going on. It would be fun to invade with a bunch of vans, hang out and watch kids play, etc.
I'm thinking Saturday, April 7th.
You find this place on left side of Hwy 35 (if you are traveling North) and it is just before the Mt Hood Meadows entrance.
Here are the Lat/Longs (copy and paste into Google Maps).

Mr Kidd, Sledding with the kiddies April 7th, that sounds like a good time. I have to work that night but could possibly make it up for the day. The wife would much rather drive the MBZ up there though Perhaps just me and the kids Lets firm it up with a post after this weekend so it does not get lost in the shuffle.
Anyone up for a rally to Moab May 24-25 depart, Moab 26-28th? Would love to roll with another van or two. Anyone feel like logging some miles and playing in the desert? I cannot make Syncro Solstice this year but really want to go play in Moab now that I have a Syncro . Solstice 2012.2

Hey of anyone coming tomorrow, do any of you own a pellet stove and or have some pellets that I could liberate off of you? I am too cheap and don't need a 40 lb bag. I know a bag is only $5.50 but I only want like maybe 5-10 lbs of the stuff. I guess I should just go buy a bag and throw it in my garage.
Any help on some pellets would be much loved! _________________ VW

Pick up a bag of Feline Pine cat litter. Not exactly pellet stove pellets but they're pretty close and come in a 5lb bag .. for about $4 I think. |

Hal is it the same type of pellet? Hard packed compressed? Interesting if it is.
C.J .said "IF" he makes it to the Lab tomorrow he will bring me some. I hope he does make it, I am wanting to see his hot burner unit up close. Compare his with mine.
One other thing. Does anyone know how to get a hold of Dale the Locksmith? Dale that we all know, Gold Syncro?. Ripped his grill off in the pit at Mogfest. I am in need of his services for my Slider door which the key won't work in anymore. I put the key in and it's like a "Hot dog in a hallway" so to speak. All mushy and not in a good way. Can you tell I have no GF? _________________ VW

this get together is tempting.....It's my birthday Sunday so I have free reign .
I'll see how I feel after the shindig tonight and maybe some 'hair of the lab' will be necessary to get back to normal.
I may try to bring the wife and kiddos with me.....
hope to see you all Sunday. _________________ adam
