I'm assuming you are running IRS, correct?
I've got bad ideas about auto-xing my mostly stock 59 once I get it back on the road. Twisted Evil

what times/cars did you beat?

I haven't gotten teh results in the mail yet, but I was right on par with all the Boxters. I beat most of the WRXs, and beat a Porsche 912 that was there. There were a bunch of slow cars like AE86 Corollas, Integras, and e30 BMWs, and I was ahead of all of those. The cars that I was slower than were most of the Miatas, all teh prepped 510s, and the dunebuggies, but those guys really haul ass. Obviously, i was also slower than all the dedicated race cars that showed up.

But I can pick up a lot of time still. I am running street tires, and nearly stock suspension. Once i get it stiffer and with stickier tires on it, I will jump way ahead in the results!

bitch.

I'm pretty jealous, I found out my cars suspension is worn the fuck out when I took a couple corners fast and my sister and brother in law were in the car with me and it floated like a boat lol....

wicked sick car man, I pretty much have the same motor in my super, can't wait to get the suspension done and take it to the track too!

Update!

I test fitted a set of Turbo Twists this weekend. Fronts are 17x7.0 with a 205/50/17 tire, and Rears are 17x8.5 with a 255/40/17 tire. Because of my widened fiberglass fenders, they actually do fit! Some pictures:

It totally changes the look of the car. The front tires do rub on the headlight buckets pretty badly, so I need to stick some smaller ones on there. I am going to try 205/40/17s and hopefully that will both fix the rubbing and get the nose down a little bit. It has a bit of a donk look to it, and I don't want that.

the 255s look ridiculous in the back, in a good way! They're so wide. The car looks mean as hell rolling down the street.

I plan on getting a set of race tires for the black fuchs to autocross with, and using the turbo twists for daily driving.

I forget, what size are your rear fenders? And are you running a standard beam out front?

Honestly, i dont know how wide the fenders are. i think they're 1.5 inches, but I can't be sure. I'll try and remember to measure them against the fenders on my wife's 66 bug.

The front beam is stock width, with adjusters. I've got CB drop disk spindles, and 4x130 to 5x130 wheel adapters on the front, which are about an inch or so thick. If it weren't for the adapters, I'd need a one inch spacer to fit the wheels on. Eventually, i plan on converting the front brakes to Lobster Claws, but one step at a time.

BTW, i have a Chinese 009 on my bug and it seems to run fine.

Well between the kadrons and the HUGE heads and the 009, it just isn't very smooth... My brother in law has a 72 standard beetle and his beam is bent, and we are looking at porche rims trying to figure out how to get just the fronts, but if we can just pop some wide fenders on the back and be good to go, that'd be wicked. I allready have narrow springs for the front of my 73 super, and I just need to get some Porsche torsion bars for the rear...

and you know, a set of turbo twists Wink

My bro in law and I are always checking out your car, ours look worse than yours and aren't as wicked around the cones... Money, families and all that, but someday! You're car is very encouraging!
