I just bought a 1970 bay window in great shape!
I was wondering if anyone knew of any good books, websites for learning to work on, changing oil, etc....
Thanks! Happy Drivin'

website = this one. the best one there is.
books = both Muir's and the Bentley have been very helpful for me and many others will agree. _________________ You were Marlon Brando

This is a pretty good website for most stuff.
Just about every possible question for a baywindow bus has been asked about 10 times. The SEARCH feature is really your best shot for most of those. The FAQ stuff and the "stickies" up on top of are money and time well spent. The first thing we do when we get a new bus is to change out all of the fuel lines so it doesn't burn down.
The Bentley Baywindow manual is also money well spent as is the Muir book, but when in doubt defer to the Bentley.
Post some picutres of your bus in the "gallery section".
Take that bus for a nice ride! |

She's beautiful! You might think about moving that fuel filter out of the engine compartment though. _________________ "Slave to the traffic light"

Super nice! If you are new to VWs, get the Muir, put it in the crapper, and read it cover to cover. _________________ MAKE FORUMS GREAT AGAIN

Good website to look into, cuts back on the wait time when you post on here, great walk throughs and it gives you a good start on basicly everything you could need so you can know whats going on just a bit more when you do come here to ask questions but the samba is the best, especially when you run into those odd problems that just have you confused. Beautiful bus by the way, and see you at a panic show? Parking lot is were you get ready for the show aye, happy driving man _________________ "Today was good.

Thanks to all for your comments. I have had the bus a few months. Just got around to getting some pics in.
I did get the Idoits book and read most of it.
Ordered fuel line kit from german supply. Putting it in Sunday. Relocating fuel filter to right after fuel tank.
Replaced rubber seal around engine, new pedestal mats. etc.
and Cleaned it up Guud! 1st owner took great care.
