Thanks Everett. theres alot of info in there but seems like the consensus is theres not a straight color for the frame and underside. Also in the engine bay of my singlecab and the frame horns are dove blue, is that just from overspray? also the dove blue I had mixed up at space age was to dark compared to a spot on my bus where it had turn signals installed when I removed them there is perfect paint under them.

Is this the single cab that was over at Patrick's getting the bottom stripped?. Looked like there was ALOT of work to be done before paint. Anyway, I have a few matches I've done for undercarriages and cargo areas that I've saved formulas for. I have some spray out samples here that you're welcome to look at and see if there's anything that works. Let me know if you need any more help.

Thats the one, I put it in etching primer now but wanted to put running gear in it, and was worried about getting the primer greasy. Currently getting the metal to fix the bus so... Dave I dont think that its to bad, it could be alot worse. considering it came from northern Min.

Yeah, Patrick(Pro Strip Media Blasting) does do great work. I don't know what I'd do without him. Email or PM me and we can go from there on the paint... As I said, you'll probably just have to come by here to look at some samples. I don't know any other way to go about it.

It's Primer so there is no real code.
Various shades of primer were used at different times so you may just have to pick one from some part you have or use something off your own vehicle. I'd go with what Dave has...
The frame horns were painted on a lot of Buses from what I have seen. Not just overspray, although some of the other undercarriage pieces may be just oversprayed.
My '54 Truck frame horns and engine compartment are not painted.
My 60/61/63 frame horns are painted but so is the engine compartment. _________________ How to Post Photos
