I recently bought a 1981 air-cooled VW Westfalia. I relocated to Portland, OR, and on my way lost use of my 3rd and 4th gears. Then engine just revs. I am looking for a reliable repair shop in Portland that is familiar with Vanagons. Does anyone have a suggestion for me?
Thanks so much! |

I have been going to Re-Born Automotive for the last 10 years. They're located at 1800 SE M.L.King Jr. Blvd. Portland, Oregon 97214. Their phone is 503-231-4947.
They're certainly not the cheapest but they do good work and they stand behind it.
I've heard that people like Halsey as well but I've never been there. _________________ 89 Syncro Westy - GW 2.5, now with a double knob job

I bought my VW from a mech in NE Portland, Brian. He's been working on VW's for 20+ years. Super nice and crazy reasonable. He's got some wicked lookin dogs but they're sweeties. If you're interested, I'll get you his number. _________________ 69 Westy w/Dormie Top
