You guys need a single cab really bad! I know the bus will take it, done shit like that myself with the Camper before... hauling gravel, wood, 800 pounds worth of newspapers, etc. But once I got the SCab it all became so easy as well as carrying a bigger load.

Went to Home Depot to pick up some lumber, to build some heavy duty shelves to store VW parts.
Hoisting all that lumber up onto the roof rack is a bit of a chore, but until my single cab is back on the road the Panelvan will handle things just fine.

Loaded up the bus and visited our storage locker. Amazing how much junk you can fit in a 5' x 10' floor space. The first couple of runs were in sunny weather and the bus looked old and tired in the spanking new facility. Today was rainy so the bus had that slick wet look, hiding the numerous cosmetic flaws and touch-ups.

Continued stripping and scraping all the (wrong!) paint that was applied in a previous "restoration". More like a massacre than a restoration actually. This bus started out as a '67 Velvet Green SO-42

| Drove it ... for the first time since November. There is still snow in the yards but the salt is off the road. I pulled up to a light and there was a similar age beetle in the next lane. Must be a sunny Saturday in April in the north. |

I'm getting another load of log length firewood soon, so I'm scrounging wood pallets to put the cut/split wood on, I stopped by the R.R. crossing near my house, they are installing gates and new lights/signs, I asked about pallets and any signs available, and scored!!

Took on some supplies to bring up to a friend with a cottage. Not a big load, but it was enough to compress the springs (twist the torsion arms?) a bit. I crawled under to do the valves and could not move my arms (nor my nose) with the bus sitting a little bit lower. I'll put off the tuneup until after I dump that load tomorrow.
