Mr albrect is driving a vert ghia on some remote island in the carribean shit faced drunk from drinking rum and cokes, i doubt we pee-on part time crew members are his first concern, besides he is retired.

Not as little as I expected, but definitely a cool bag so we bought one. It's about 18" long x 6" wide x 14" high. TJ's on Marconi in Sac have at least 15 more of them. |

Ralphs grocery store is now selling these shopping bags for environmentally conscious shoppers. $1.25 each.
They are a Southern California version of Kroger.
I think the bus is slammed and narrowed but the bags are sewn right through the tire so it's hard to tell. |

Best looking shopping bag I've ever seen! It's even nice enough to take into Whole Foods. _________________ and take the kids for instance "Are we going in the Volkswagen bus?" and they say "Yay!" and clap their hands and if it's a glorious day you can slide the sunroof back and let a little of the glory in and all of a sudden, it stops looking funny.

I somehow missed the first release/sale of the Trader Joe's insulated bogs with the Splitty images. But about a year ago our nearby Joe's offered these bags, which I had never seen. As a long-ago Splitty owner (in the '70s, when I lived in Boston, I drove a funky '66 to Guatemala with a detour on the return leg to the Vancouver border-- a good 10,000-mile loop), I bought one, of course. After all, they fit nicely under the overhang of the bed in my current '87 Westie, and at about 7 bucks, are very well made. At Joe's renewed offering a year ago they only had one color, dark blue (or was it the dark pink/light purple, and the blue later?) Anyhow, when the second round/second color came out a few months later, I got one. And then a month ago, the orange version appeared, so I now have a set of three. There hasn't been an overlap of two colors in the stores at the same time, so now in this orange-bag era I'm wondering if they are going to offer a 4th color option in the spring. Frugal me, I only got one of each-- might have bought two, to have a back-up. (OMG - what if they put them out in 6 or 8 colors... would I have to buy them all?)
If anyone on this thread still has one from a dozen years ago and sees these in a Trader Joe's now, please let me/us know if the current offering is identical to the '08 vintage version or if there are changes. The current bag is 18"x 6 1/2" by 13 1/2" tall, with the single zipper running along three sides (2 short and one long). REI would have gotten twice Joe's price for the equivalent bag! |
