It’s mental Mate. It only hits 1psi boost in 1st, 3psi in 2nd, 8psi in 3rd and 10 psi in 4th at 3200rpm. I’ve limited it to 10psi until I get the hang of it, the highest I’ve had it is 14psi so far but that scared the pop out of me 💩😂

Came back from paint on Sunday, no more big white "bandage" on the hood. Can't believe we stressed so much on the color match for so long.

Bled the brakes on my bug. At first I used a vacuum pump and tried to do them my self. I sat there for almost 5 hrs trying to bleed the brakes with this thing, and found it completely useless. I couldn't get enough air out of the line, to bleed properly. So a friend and I bled them the old fashion way and took about an hour. Don't spend your money on those pumps. They are good for other things , but not for bleeding brakes.

I changed my Uh Oh Nine distributor with electronic ignition to an SVDA with points. My car went from being a tired 44 year old car to being a little sports car.

This is my first bug so I didn't know what people meant when they said the 009 has a flat spot, but I sure do now.

Two months ago was the first time I ever changed a car's oil.

Today I completed replacing my throw-out bearing & cross shaft, and clutch & pressure plate. Removed and reinstalled the engine all by my lonesome. Very exhilarating.

Got every single light, switch, and knob working on the '73 Super Beetle's dash...with the exception of the long-dead seatbelt warning light and buzzer. Very Happy

Hey there Tyson! Glad to see the Bug show back up. I thought I may see that one once again somewhere down the road. Hope all is well!

I have another 70 that I have been restoring. Hopefully, it comes out looking as good. Today, I just got back from four days in Phoinex at PIR. Those cars are so damn loud and fast, makes me want to build a race car again! We will see what happens to this Bug! Dont think it will rivel a NASCAR, but maybe an xfinity series one! Or not, those are beast too!

The tranny got rebuilt on yours. I am surprised the cross shaft needed to be replaced. What went on?

I actually worked on it yesterday til 11:00 PM, so almost today! Replaced all four ball joints. While the spindles where out, I tapped them for backing plates for my disc brakes, just in case we get rain in SoCal this Winter! Still need to realign the front end, but the basic settings, when I quickly measured, were close.

A big press, couple of impact sockets and a torch. Had to preload the camber adjuster in the press and heat up with a torch. Wrapped a piece of leather around the ballpoint, during heating, so that when the adjuster gave up the ghost, it would not go shooting off into the garage! But the noise did get the wife and kids to come out and say Hi!

Rebuilt a used beam and changed to discs then took the old one out. Just need to find the time to install the "new" one.

crawled under the bug to ensure the superficial rubber transfer and 2" scratch on the bumper was all there was to see.

Son was rear-ended by a Suburban Saturday night. The bumper on the Suburban was squashed out on both ends beyond the body, and one headlight failed. . .

Over the past 2 days took the old girl up to my hometown to used my dad's heated garage, jack, and stands. Got her up in the air for the first time since I bought her.

Did the shift rod bushing and coupler- now shifting is smooth, secure, and quick. Cool

Then reworked and ran the fuel vent lines per OEM specs in the trunk down to the front passenger fender- still need to finish running the lines back to the charcoal canister in the rear, but at least the tank is now vented (PO had ran the lines in a manner which made the tank unvented Shocked

Checked the CV joints and found a few CV bolts were a bit loose, but not too bad- re-torqued those bad boys.

Checked out my fuel lines and replaced some rubber on the rear line chassis exit to protect it.

Figured out one of my small oil drips too- the oil pressure sensor was about a turn out and dripping during operation. Tightened that back down and voila! So far no more oily residue up on the breast tin!

Today I finally got around to replacing my starter on my 72. Got it wired up and once I went to turn the key all I got was a click and a wrrr. Sounds like the pinion isn't engaging the flywheel ? Or the bendix ? Probably not the place to post but I was just hoping someone could help. Thanks in advance
