Okay Wiggy and the Vee Dub Elders, where are you? Well just wanted to know or get some input from everyone on where I should put this little guy..Ive seen them on glove boxes, ash trays..on the outside of the drivers door, on the front of the hood...etc..Does it really matter??...I have a June 1954 VW so seen this one on eBay and picked it up..before I get into the paint job of my car I wanted to pre-drill the holes..I just wanted to know was there a particular spot for the certain badges..and also is there any history to this badge..I tried to google MSC Backnang and all I got was a german translation and my german is limmited to Deutschland, Wienerschnitzel and of course Volkswagen..Soooo any knowledge or history lesson??

Okay Ive went through some of the old forums and seen some placements on badges..There was a good idea of puting it on the ashtray or glove box...one reason cause Im not too enthused with the drilling holes into the body... So Im guessing the ashtray or glove is cool..Ill just have a backup painted just in case of both...So what about the rally badge itself any history?? _________________ Valentine, Ray J Sr.

Some sort of rally or slalom. Zuverlässigkeitsfahrt means reliability or endurance test, from my Google Fu.
Website....

Backnang is a place in Germany, just north of Stuttgart (Mercedes) Probably an endurance rally sponsored by the local auto club |

Backnang:
Drilling is so permanent. A lot of people use double-sided tape and fake screw heads. |
