Brakes bled, gearbox filled up and battery in place:
Front wheels and (smart-car) tires are on.
Not sure wether I'm leaving them on. First I'm gonna drive a bit to see how high or low I want my bus to sit.
And sometimes it's 1 step forward and 2 steps back
Original upholsterythat I allready repaired in a few spots.
Ripped right under my #ss. Hope I can still fix it.
More of this project:

Update:
Tried to fix the rip and it came out quite o.k.
It's not 100% invissible but I'm more than happy about it!
Nice red Dutch! Koni shocks all around:
Had some dust specs polished out:
And two spots in the cabine painted that didn't cover 100% at the painter:
Then it was time to finish the airbox in the cabine.
I allready had blasted and painted the internals (+ new seals offcourse)
Engine-time!
With my buddy Leon (from www.volksaddiction.nl) we seperated the case to check the inside.
Alltough this engine (1600 sp) run very well in my bug it turns out it needs all bearings replaced and a new cam.
I'm also having the crankshaft balanced to get a smooth running engine.
While that is beeing done I hope to make a start on the upholstery of
the gargo area!

I was planing to use the original filter.
I know the papertube is thinner so I've fabbed somthing up for the rear tin.
What do you mean by heat tube to aircleaner snout? _________________ www.volksfahrer.nl

i cliked on picture that shows the sand blasted engine tin going to powdercoaters. the bent tubeb to right of piece that goes on carburator is not 67 and older, used on 68 und newer where filter sits on a pedistal.
there should be a tube with a tab that bolts to head. above it is a hole with plastic ring the cardboard tube passes thru to go to snout on aircleaner. on your air clearner the attachment for this car air preheat is same size tube as the ones from fan shroud to heater boxes. _________________ Admin note: Bill Passed away - July, 2017

More work done in the cargo area:
Details, details, details!!
And done!
Sides and rear corners:
Added some decoration with this decal-panel.
Next up is the roof upholtery which has proven to be a real bitch!
The fabric I use is 100% NON stretch! So when I curve the panel
it starts to wrinkle like a senior citizen.. _________________ www.volksfahrer.nl

Headline DONE!!
Creative RnR bed placed (gift from my lovely wife!!).
It proved to be quite a job
As a start the instruction where wrong and it needed to sit on 18mm floor instead of 9mm..
The rear crossmember didn't fit (in bed position the backrest didn't fold down completly)
Had to fit spacers behing the frame or else the backrest would'nt fully go
in sitting position..
And the dumbest thing was that one of the bolts catched the hinge when folding it in to seating position!!
I'd expected it to be better for what it costs.
But now that it's in it is solid as a rock!
