What type of air-cleaners are on this split window bug? Where can I buy some, and do they work well. Thanks

Looks like Knecht filters on Zenith NDIX carbs (Porsche)

Not sure where to get them, but I imagine they're $$$

The original Kadron steel Air Filters look similar.

When the air filters get old can you replace the filter on the inside.

The old Kadron filter were like that, element on the inside and a metal screen on the outside. I imagine the Porsche filters are the same.

I used to have some Knecht filters on Solex P-11s but never ran any element other than the metal screen.

Like ris said the Knecht filters from zenith carb applications in a earlt porsche, thats where okrasa raided the parts bin to get them from.

You can't take them apart and therefore there is no changeable element, I presume you wash them and oil them, like a Z&N.

repros for $150 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsche-356-A-Solex...enameZWDVW

The screen also helps the filters keep their shape when Gilligan works on your carbs.
