I stumbled across this website: http://laikamwah.com/aboutus.asp?login=&email=
and found this paragraph interesting:
"We are the only manufacturer in the world of the 34PICT3 solex designed carburetors for Volkswagen aircooled application, as well as the aircooled single port cylinder head." |

these people make a decent carb. this is a so-called "kafer" 34-pict. there are at least 3 asian made 34-pict3 carbs available and theirs is quite good. it does have an issue with some of the carbs where the float can stick inside the bowl, but if you fix this issue they run quite well.
there is at least one, maybe more, other manufacturers of a chinese 34-pict. the last ones we ordered from our supplier were supposed to be this kafer one, but a different carb came in, made in china and the quality was awful. these ones had no markings on the side of the bowl, a terrible accelerator pump linkage, the choke butterfly stuck and the float was lousy. we sent them back because they were supposed to be the kafer ones. _________________ SL |
