PostPosted: Thu Mar 12, 2015 11:32 am    Post subject: Water Tank Wiring Reply with quote

Installing a water tank/closet and want to finish the wiring. The Bentley 97.33 is 'nt doing it for me.

Water tank sensor has four wires coming out the little black diode box. Green wire on the top water tank terminal, yellow on the next terminal down, white on the third terminal down. The black wire (with masking tape in photo below) that comes out of the diode box has been cut off, should that go to the bottom male terminal on the water tank? If it does how does the diode get power?

The black wire loom coming out from behind the wall panel has the water pump loom and a double black wire (with electrical tape in photo) with a female spade terminal coming out of the main loom. Is this the terminal that goes on the bottom terminal of the water tank? And supply the power for the diode?

The water pump loom has a green wire (with blue tape in photo) with a female terminal, where does this go?

I am having the same issue trying to figure out how this all hooks up and I found these images but haven't fixed mine yet. I am hoping that these diagrams are correct and that all the electrical components are working also. I hope this helps

The short cut black wire is not used on mine coming out of the diode pack. I believe I posted the same question a few years ago. The black wires with the female spade connector in your picture 99% sure go to the bottom tab of the tank. Not sure about that lone green wire in your picture.

Laughing

Thank you Tim. I wondered why my pump didn't work and I had a flood in the Westy. Just kidding. This was taken during a reinstall of my kitchen. And water tank. Not yet done in the photo. It is done now though.

By the way how is it up there in Maine. It was 82 degrees and sunny today in Miami. Very Happy

Hey Tim I just saw you will be heading our way. Good timing to get out of the snow. Have a safe trip. If you need info on South Florida let me know.

Thanks for info and photos. The only issue now is looping the single black wire into the black diode box. The wire doen't have solder on it, so hopefully I can push it back into place.

The single black wire isn't stripped, no bare wire. So...I assume it doesn't have to loop back into the diode box, is that right?

Mine is hanging in space. No harm in sliding it into the sheath if you feel better about it.

I'm trying to set mine up (removed and didn't take photos my bad!) so putting it back.

Where does that yellow / black wire plastic connector go that's hanging loose?

I see that the green from the diode is tied to the green with the harness.

Shouldn't the yellows be tied together too? Or is the harness yellow not hooked up?

Thanks much!

I have a similar problem.
When i bought my van 2 years ago the water level indicator always worked

(when there was no water in the tank, the red led light on the water level indicator would light up) I never used the tank so im assuming this is normal.

After I removed the fridge the whole display stopped working until I hooked the water pump back up and got the battery level indicator to start working again. However, the water level indicator still does not work.

Everything is wired up and plugged in correctly

Im curious where the positive and negative wires are that make the water level indicator work. Maybe something is unplugged from removing the fridge?

Im lost

Have you tried this?

My '87 Syncro has the old style with the three contacts. The indicators didn't work. I emptied the tank and sanded them with 400 grit paper. Now they work.

Your wires on the back side of the tank aren't corroded are they?

I can't find the thread but it said to put a small amount of salt in the water to help the level sensors work?
