Not a whine because the picture tells the story, but the description is priceless.

Looks like it might have got wacked by Irma. |

As found by my uncle, owner claims that there's only 700 miles on rebuilt Porsche engine, ran when parked a couple, no, five, maybe ten (17) years ago. "Make me an offer", "You just need to jack the roof back up & some fiberglass repair." "I ain't lettin it go for less than $3500".

If it's truly that low original miles and original owner w/all paperwork that verifies the mileage, the price is not out of line. Especially if the interior is mint and everything is in great condition.
Of course the engine better be as delivered original and run perfectly. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

Yeah, but why would a bus with that low miles need a canvas replaced.... _________________ '67 Beetle L41

Oh Im sure it will need more than that. But Im with Bill. If all this is true, replacing perishable items here and there like the tent are not to out of line and to be expected on a car 40 years old driven little over a thousand miles a year
Id expect a new muffler, rubber, brake lines........... that sort of stuff needing help soon.
As some would say - you cant restore it for that price. _________________

Agreed, could have had a mouse problem or something as well.
From here it looks pretty clean, if it's truly what they claim the price is strong but not entirely out of line, I'd want to see a big stack of service reciepts and have a PPI done by a knowledgeable bus person before pulling the trigger on that. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

funny....
the kiddo here still thinks this is a joke, or a cheap hobby...it isn't. until you have walked the line so many of us have, you just won't understand....
and I agree with BD and NB....but, even if the receipts weren't there, most of us can tell a low mileage bus from a polished turd. from the photos, it does scream survivor for sure.
Everett...I can send you a spare, and post your bail if you'd like _________________

This kiddo doesn't think this is a cheap hobby, he just thinks that it's crazy that he's claiming low miles and being the original owner without any mention of paperwork besides the owners manual... _________________ '67 Beetle L41

I agree, i think the idea that they picked it up for song and trailered it to their flip shop and changed the canvas might enter ones mind. Remove the pict of the bus parked crooked in the parking lot (seriously who parks their bus or any vehicle like that) and the one on a trailer and i could buy the story. Are they saying it is or was a one owner bus? Where are the interior picts? They lost me at the parking lot picture. _________________ 70 Karmann Ghia Vert

For $40,000 they might want to consider a picture of the rear, the interior and the engine compartment..... _________________ '76 Deluxe Campmobile |

The ad for this survivor bus for $40k is terrible, no doubt. However, it still comes down to the buyer to decide the originality of the bus.
If someone was serious about acquiring it, they'd request the missing photo's and ask for more information in regards to maintenance records and their proof of this low mileage claim before going to view it in person.
This price point is certainly at the high end of a bay camper. But, as mentioned, to buy a beat up bus and restore it to a high level would probably exceed $40k. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]
