Hello, Now that's comparing apples to oranges.... I would think.
I'm not justifying the asking price and it does have some parts missing...
But, an eastcoast rusted rotten out bus vs. an west coast inland bus with, what some people would call, surface rust/patina.. (no metal replacement or holes after blasting) is a no brainer... Monies saved in the long run...
If the kid could find this bus on the east coast, he would be one happy camper. |

The good news is that it is a 2 hour drive so I can save on shipping. At this calculus, I have enough parts in my sash to go ahead and retire early. _________________ 1970 Crew Cab |

I don’t think that is the original paint nor do I think it is a rare find... _________________ '67 Beetle L41

It is a kombi (one color and no beltline trim, hardboard rear interior), so that is at least uncommon in the US. Middle seat is later, but the rest of the interior seems to be mostly intact. Fresh engine and "breaks" so that's good. $15K is quite optimistic. _________________ nothing |

I'm not sure that's all that out of line, pushing the high side for sure, it could get that from someone who appreciates it for what it is (or a stoopid hippie wannabe).
A real Kombi with minimal rust or damage, what looks like mostly OG paint and ready to drive is almost as rare as a similar truck, not too many real commercials in that shape around lately. Yes it has some wrong parts, but it doesn't appear to be the shit show many used up worn out rotten bondoed shiny flipper jobs are.

I think that it was white originally. You can see the whole interior is white including the slider track. _________________ '67 Beetle L41

My 71 kombi was exactly the same. A shot of the M-code plate will tell the tale.
Here's the best couple of shots I have of the 71 kombi with original paint outside, grey-ish interior paint showing.
The 70 kombi may not be too far off from reality with that price, but it better be fully ready to drive with no issues, or that price comes down really quick. _________________ nothing |

That paint isn't OG is it? I thought that 1968-1970 was only solid colors and white roof? _________________ Brutis Patches Izabich: 1970 VW Transporter - 1776cc DP
