I've seen ads for free scrap metal where the items were laid out neater than that. If you're asking that kind of money (whether it's worth it or not), why wouldn't you take 5 minutes to properly display what you're selling? Just a bunch of crap piled on top, underneath, and against other crap, and I'm supposed to make sense of exactly what's there and the condition of it?

I would look at his current feedback, it all looks pretty good for selling

I get that people want to make a buck on flipping, and that rust free buses here in Ontario are rare, but this is not even close to a $13,500 USD bus:

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=2443864

Maybe half that. You drove it all summer with no engine tins? No thanks.

MMmmm IDK brother. Its all there. Pop tOps are hot. Having one that works - if what they say is true - that price is close in my opinion.

Hello,
If you call that bus rust free, you need too take another close look at the pictures shown. That bus has cancer starting. And has been patch repaired from the color blending on the lower portion. I'd bet the undercoating will be very thick as a hide-all on the under side. Just saying.
Yet, one mans ideal of rust free is another mans ideal of a rust bucket in process.

But, the interior looks nice. Wink And, It's only missing the engines tin seals; tins look intact as NB noted.

Hello,
Yes, that is a low avg. starting price from what people are asking for a type 4 engine bus...
Yet, I'd like to spend my money and time on mechanical repairs than on cancerous rust repairs at my age. Been there done that.
Just, spoiled living in a dry area of the country I guess.

What are your thoughts on this one...

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=2456706

I'm intrigued by the seller, saying they are a one-price dealership and doesn't negotiate on price. Does $20k sound reasonable for a '71 Westy in this shape?

Hard to say from the few lousy pictures, the body looks relatively mud free, the rest of it looks like a band aided used bus with some cheap seat covers thrown on. The goo oozing out of the engine seams and the cheap new shiny bits creep me out a little. With a fat stack of receipts for brake, undercarriage, driveline and window seal work it might not be a bad deal, but as presented I'd be very careful, looks like a piglet with some lipstick smeared on.

Or not enough where it counts. Seems like that offer to cover the first 1500 miles in shipping is already covered in the cost to buy the bus.

Laughing i think it warrants an in person inspection to justify that price. the bang in the long wall rocker is unfortunate as is the rust blister on the shorty rocker

Hello,
Heck
For, that price they should get rid of the quick-fix horn "button" at least.
Oh, and I really like the liberal use of HTV sealer... So, much going wrong with the engine set-up for a stock 71. I'd hate to look under the dash at the wiring.

But, it is "somewhat" a complete early westy for being 50yrs old(with some issues)... Are, them the prices these days?. IDK.

I wonder. RV sales are way up during the past year - like over 30% nationwide - us included. I wonder if this is effecting Type 2 camper value similarly.
