Upgraded fuse box location with cover removed for easy access. Wiring in the fresh air duct and a speaker in the dash vent?????

An electrical hot mess.

It's ok, the all-red fuses really compliment the fresh paint.

16A fuses are much stronger anyway. Wink

This same bus was purchased on BAT in 2018. At that time it sold for $30K. The buyer, and now current seller, had to put a new motor and trans axle in it almost right away. I am really interested to see how this does the second time around.

Am I the only person who finds this BAT style of description – where the writer anthropomorphizes every fucking part of the vehicle – absolutely grating? I cannot be the only person, please? Some day I plan to list a vehicle on BAT and bust out every haggard cliche in the history of BAT descriptions, and put them all in one single ad, just to see if anyone is paying attention.

Faaak, it makes my head hurt so much I can't even read these BAT vehicle ads any more.

Exactly! Their third-person narative, second-hand-information thing has my head spinning on who did, or said what. From a different auction:

"This 1994 BMW 850CSi is said to have remained with the original owner in Nevada until it was purchased by the current owner and subsequently relocated to Oklahoma in late 2020. This E31 850CSi shows 28k miles and is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the current owner in California with partial service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Oklahoma title."

IMO that sale would be significantly hampered by having been on BAT not long ago, engine failure etc. The vehicle is basically branded at that point. All else being equal and it having a good engine and never been sold on BAT before it would sell for more than what it just closed at.

Great point.

And its being sold at the worst time - being trumped by last year maybe and selling at the end of the year before the holidays. Best time to get a good VW cheap is now into maybe early February.

So, for $75 USD I can get about $40 worth of clutch and throttle cables shipped to me? They will probably fit in a padded envelope and ship as letter mail for about $5.

Also, add a $30 tip if you want them shipped anytime soon.

Think Oh it will cost more than $5 to ship that. More like $15.

you know i was trying to do something helpful and bundle them together for a fellow bus owner. Its very unkind of you to be this way to me i never did anything to you.

the individual pricing on each cable at cip1 is about $20 and if i order them at the local autozone napa there about $50 each so i think its a pretty decent deal for someone.

on the bottem of my ads it states
-shipping occurs asap normally same day on small items fridays or weekends on larger items..
I do send tracking info after each items sent thanks

I don't know man. $50 for a throttle cable at NAPA? That's insane. But I guess some sucker somewhere must be willing to pay that?

Here's the math I did to justify your ad as a 'whine':

CIP has those throttle cables for $17.50 CAD each, and the clutch cable for $20.69 CAD. They're all roughly those same prices at the usual parts retailers.

17.50 + 17.50+ 20.69 = $55.69 CAD which = $44.83 USD
Your price of $75 USD = $93.16 CAD
CIP ships free over $99, so I'd be less than $6 short of that. Add in a wing nut or small pack of screws, and BOOM. Free shipping.

Basically, what I'm getting at, is that I can buy 2x your package for pretty much the same money. 4 throttle cables and 2 clutch cables. If you're double the retail price, I stand by my whine. It's not a personal attack on you. It's an almost 500 page thread about opinions on Bay Window prices. My opinion was that your price is super high. Maybe someone else thinks it's a steal, and I gave you free advertising for it?
