|

I have most of the immediate internal and external fixes complete on my bus - at least enough so that it looks decent - except for my headliner. I’ve never done one and honestly am completely lost. I have no idea how to do or where to start. Thought there should be some kind of kit I could buy, but even those when I asked the retailer questions, they didn’t seem to know the answers. Thoughts on what to do? Take to an upholsterer? Restoration garage? Is there a kit that covers everything I need? See photo and thanks!

TMI sells the headliner and can supply the rods if you do not have them, an upholstery supply store has the glue you will need.
Google VW bus headliner install and watch a few videos, if it gives you the cold sweats having an automotive upholstery shop do the install might be the better choice. |

Thanks busman. Appreciate the direction. I will try to find some appropriate videos again. Have been striking out a bit. I am most concerned about how to manage the edges... No idea how to button them down or do I add some kind of edging... or...? Lol.. Cannot seem to find any specifics... I will see about a local shop and maybe just have them do. I have enjoyed doing everything myself up to this point. Thanks again man! _________________ 1978 VW Bay Window Westfalia

Has anyone used 1/4” x 3 1/2” x 8’ cedar planks to build a headliner in an early bay bus? |
