Just wondering what factory/dealer accessories people have stuck on their Things.
I have a few: shifter, steering wheel, console, ash tray and am/fm radio. I have some running boards but I don't think I want to drill holes in my fenders.
A/C and the dual aircleaners would be nice too!

You got the old plastic version of the VW accessory steering wheel. I got one just like it - don't you just love that crack at the top? They always do that. I put a "wheelskins" type of sew-together leather steering wheel cover on mine, which works and looks good and that crack isn't hardly visiable with it on. |

I've got a hood-mounted spare tire carrier for the bonnet (still in the box), duckboards for all four seats, and windshield braces from The Thing Shop. I think everyone should get a set of those braces! _________________ DAVE

I also have the steering wheel show in the beginning. Is that the one offered in the brochures from the dealership? I am glad to hear that a cover works well. Does anyone have a blowup of the horn assembly or know where I can get one. Mind is either missing a part or two and I cannot figure what it might look like or where it should go. Also, my plastic is not cracked(!?) but the silver spokes are rusting lightly. Any tips on how to refinish besides good old Krylon? Thanks, _________________ OK Thang |

Bugformance was selling a white bamboo storage tray for $55. It's something they regularly carry. It looked very much like yours inkwelz, but required drilling of two screws for support bracket to hold it. I decided against drilling, although I thought about getting it and painting it black. |

Once upon a time, I had a very similar looking rope bumper support. Without it, my bumper would point strait down and stuff would fall out of the front boot. I traded it in for some body work _________________ VW-181 shirts and stickers.
