It looks like a clip for securing coax cable to the side of your house. I don't know why it happens to be right there, though.

Is that a switch for the sliding door, or have I totally misinterpreted that photo? What does it do? Light of some kind? I wonder when they came in?...

i've seen them on 77, 78 and 79 campers. lots of buses too but on a camper it seems to be a bit rare.

guys, you're being silly. That's the holder for the extra shifter cable. Those pesky things are always breaking.
