Good to hear!! That would be a shame if that flood wiped out your awesome Vdub collection there _________________ First Vehicle:

Damn that really sucks
glad you and yours are ok.
I've been through floods aswell so i know how much that mud stinks
(it's not just mud)
as long as your family is ok thats all that matters, the cars can be cleaned out eventually. |

Don't forget to change the transmission gear oil. The transmissions will not last long with water in them. |

Thanks for that. After our baywindow was fixed, I went immediately to the gasoline station to have the transmission oil drained and changed. And the flood water had dominance over the oil. It was bad. Now the transmission oil is clean. _________________ '67 KG Cabrio (Mickey) ;

Dong, I'm glad you and your family are OK. Floods can be crazy things; unless you've lived through one, it's difficult to imagine how quickly things are torn apart and destroyed.
True enough about material possessions; they generally can be replaced if they are still priorities. Having personally lost my first home in a flood & second in a fire (careless neighbor started!), I'll say that it takes time and much effort, but it's usually possible to get things back together. (And push to get flood control/ protection in your community; that's the hardest part for us sometimes.)
All the best to you and your family in recovering. Sometimes we build things back better, or even safer when we're forced to rebuild. Hope things go well restoring your excellent VW collection too. Check & clean all the starter connections on your bus. They get all dirty & funky... even without a flood! Hang in there. _________________ Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

Thanks, buddy. And sorry to hear that you were flooded too and a fire caused another damage. But, I am pretty sure that the safely of you family was our priority. I know the feeling, buddy. Anyway, I am glad also that you and your family are safe now - and that is bliss.
Thanks,

After long hibernation of our Baywindow due to my Splitty Bus projects, finally, I could attend to the Bay again!
Side by side with our newly restored Splitty.
A trip to the gasoline station, after more than a year of hibernation!
Homey needs some total TLC!
A picnik time with my family about 2000 feet high and about 100 kms away from home.
God we had great time relaxing with Homey with us! _________________ '67 KG Cabrio (Mickey) ;

In one of our road bike rides, we used Homey as our service. It was a cool one.. Team Retro Bus!
Our respective road bikes are carried accordingly!
The front wheels are stored at the back.
We were set to drive our retro bus and park it about 50 kms away from our house and we rode about 120 kilometers. It was fun and wiht that cool style! _________________ '67 KG Cabrio (Mickey) ;

Thanks so much, buddy! Yeah, I know! When I restored and painted the Split Bus last year, I was so hooked that I forgot our other five vws. Now I get to enjoy and drive these vws, and I will pass a vw project for this year to enjoy driving the vws... Next year, I "might" be busy again wrecking and fixing a vert' bug! .... I hope so..... Thanks! _________________ '67 KG Cabrio (Mickey) ;

Recently I renovated the interior of Homey for the camper conversion.
Removing those ugly cabinets.
The mini ref i bought needed a cool cabinet.
Setting up the working place in our car port.
The cabinet of the ref is having its shape.
The cabinet in the middle that will house the fauset, spare tire storage and for other needful things to be kept in.
I also bought a sink and other hardware in preparation for its installation.
The sink has been fitted before final work. The two big water storage is for the reservior and wastage.
Fitting the spare tire.
The overhead storage and cloths cabinet are being fitted and cut accordingly.
Fitting these cabinets before having them laminated.
For the fauset, I used this tiny windshield motor washer to push the water from the reservior to the fauset. And it worked!
the outlet.
This is really cool! It is working. The Switch is located at the back of the fauset.
Fiting the cabinets before final touches.
Same as these cabinets.
The installation of the lamination needed to be close to perfection!
There you go! Alas!
The small table for the porable gas burner beside the ref and small storage behind the small table.
Finished cabinets at the back.
A table or when removed will serve as the extension of the bed inside.
Another small table up front!
My son and I were enjoyign the maiden voyage of the camper conversion.
My son and I had great time bonding.
