Good to hear!! That would be a shame if that flood wiped out your awesome Vdub collection there Sad

I've been through floods aswell so i know how much that mud stinks Mad
(it's not just mud)
as long as your family is ok thats all that matters, the cars can be cleaned out eventually.

Don't forget to change the transmission gear oil. The transmissions will not last long with water in them.

Thanks for that. After our baywindow was fixed, I went immediately to the gasoline station to have the transmission oil drained and changed. And the flood water had dominance over the oil. It was bad. Now the transmission oil is clean.

Dong, I'm glad you and your family are OK. Floods can be crazy things; unless you've lived through one, it's difficult to imagine how quickly things are torn apart and destroyed.

True enough about material possessions; they generally can be replaced if they are still priorities. Having personally lost my first home in a flood & second in a fire (careless neighbor started!), I'll say that it takes time and much effort, but it's usually possible to get things back together. (And push to get flood control/ protection in your community; that's the hardest part for us sometimes.)

All the best to you and your family in recovering. Sometimes we build things back better, or even safer when we're forced to rebuild. Hope things go well restoring your excellent VW collection too. Check & clean all the starter connections on your bus. They get all dirty & funky... even without a flood! Hang in there.

Thanks, buddy. And sorry to hear that you were flooded too and a fire caused another damage. But, I am pretty sure that the safely of you family was our priority. I know the feeling, buddy. Anyway, I am glad also that you and your family are safe now - and that is bliss.

Thanks,

Dong

We were set to drive our retro bus and park it about 50 kms away from our house and we rode about 120 kilometers. It was fun and wiht that cool style!

Thanks so much, buddy! Yeah, I know! When I restored and painted the Split Bus last year, I was so hooked that I forgot our other five vws. Now I get to enjoy and drive these vws, and I will pass a vw project for this year to enjoy driving the vws... Next year, I "might" be busy again wrecking and fixing a vert' bug! .... I hope so..... Thanks!
