My 62 Bug had one of these installed when I bought it. It's very hard to get into 1st. Drove it for about 200 miles and ok. Now I end up in 3rd rather than 1st. Even if I push hard left and up for 1st I often end up in 3rd. How do I adjust this?

I searched and couldn't find my answer. I understand many don't like this shifter. That's fine, but after losing my a$% in the market, I freakin' can't get a new shifter and have to work with what I have. Smile

It might not be the shifter. Check for play in your shift rod bushing and also check the shifter coupler, its under the back seat access panel. I only have trouble with mine going into reverse instead of 2nd.
