Well, I just booked a round trip flight to San Diego for The week of Thanksgiving. Leave here on the 20th, and have to fly back on the 28th.
My son wants me to do some things with him on the weekend, but during the rest of the week, I should be around.
As it gets closer, I will know more.
I am having major surgery on the 30th, and have to take it easy for a couple weeks after. I am lucky, that they let me fly as soon as the 20th.
My son lives in the Lakeside/Santee area.
Oh, and I get a 1 hour tour of the Phoenix airport, on the way out. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

I'm in but since my wife is due with our 5th child about that same time I can't commit too far in advance. If anything we can BBQ at my house and you guys know I can fit all the cars in. _________________ '68 Lotus White T34 automatic sunroof

First, may God protect you through your surgery, and bless you with a speedy recovery.
Next, a BBQ would be nice, sort of a mini Invasion/Show, but low key personal. Kind of like what we did for Jason.
Russ, would you be able to give some pointers? I know you would be on vacation, so I would not ask for help, just were/what do to, if it is not right. See, I do not know what a stock F.I. engine is supposed to sound like, and I have this odd noise. Plus, something is not right with the start up, and it is not possible to describe and show over the internet.
Now I have even more reason to get the Squareback taken care of, and a deadline: November 23. Thank you! _________________ Please consider I am Autistic, so I process information differently and still working on social skills. Thanks.

if he's up to it I'd like him to pass judgment or give opinions on the state/condition of my FI-- I'd love to learn from a real VW dealership tech guy. _________________ 71 Squareback-FI -- 73 Bay (subaru powered)

My family and I are going back home to Chicagoland area for Thanksgiving, but if that falls thru (we fly standby), then I'm definitely in, whether it be a BBQ or a meet would be cool w/me. _________________ '62 golfblau Typ 311 Limousine

Maybe we could meet in the PHX airport. Seems like all flights to the midwest go through there. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

My wife works for Continental so Houston is our connection...
No non-stop flights to O'Hare from San Dog. But when we lived in Seattle there was a non-stop flight which was cool. _________________ '62 golfblau Typ 311 Limousine

Russ you still coming? If you're willing, I bet you could make some extra money for Christmas helping us get our cars running better. _________________ '68 Lotus White T34 automatic sunroof

To Russ; Good luck with the surgery and I hope everything goes the way it is supposed to! I'm in El Cajon. Right next to Lakeside/Santee.
To Jack; You're insane. Better buy a bus pretty soon. Congrats!
That sounds like a lot of fun. I would be completely up for a pot luck/BBQ. I'm sure everyone could fit their cars in that huge backyard of Jack's. _________________ 1968 Volkswagen Squareback |
