Bought this 55 amp alternator and the damn washer on the right isn't wide enough to provide me a good gap In between the pulley and alternator, it rubs/scrapes really bad, I havmt been so frustrated. The washer on the left is off of my old Motorola alternator, see the difference? I tried shaping the Motorola washer but it was a bitch, I dont have the right tools neither to shape it. Does anyone have suggestions?? Had anyone had this problem before and knows how to fix it?? I was thinking about buyin a new pulley but I dkmt want to spend $35 and not knowing if that would even work...

I have that, that doesn't help with the gap in between the alternator and the pulleys, it goes in between them and looks the pulleys together so that belt can go on.... I dont to return the alternator but I think I might have too..

You could always take your new generator and pulley to a bearing shop, let them get the measurements and see if they have a bushing that will work. It would be cheaper than a new pulley.
