Here are your choices. The only new cam gears I've seen are made for Porsche engines (same pitch, same size). Only problem with that is you get to pay the Porsche price for it. If you have a usable gear on your old cam then just simply cut the rivets, remove the gear and then drill and recess the holes to fit an 8mm bolt. Check this thread for an idea of what it takes:

I have discovered that the new aftermarket 1600 cam gears are a smaller diameter (same OD size as 36hp gears) and will fit on a 36hp application. You would also have to use a 1600 crank gear due to the different pitch. I have a couple engines running at the moment that use that swap with no problems. No aluminum flakes in the oil tell me the fit is good. The final option is a straight cut cam gear set, any brand works. While they do make a little more noise that a helical cut gear, it's not unbearably loud (sound will depend on brand). _________________ 30 years experience in the sales of new and used auto parts!

O.K. thanks , straight cut gear it wil be than.
I Always thought that on 36hp engines the crank and the cam where closer together |

They are.........all aftermarket 1600 gears these days are the smaller 36hp diameter to allow for greater clearance, that is why they (straight cut or helical) can be used in a 36hp. _________________ 30 years experience in the sales of new and used auto parts!
