|
|
morning. I have done many searches on the samba for paint removal and there were a ton of hits. I have a bus with (i believe) original paint on top, but house paint on the bottom, I would like to get the house paint off with out removing the og paint underneath it. I have seen the oven cleaners, but that takes it all the way down, is there a better way to remove the house paint by keeping the og paint underneath?
How well does Xylene or Tolulene work? thanks
here are some pics of the green house paint and of the green spray paint over the white.
the lighter green is spraypaint

X2. I'm going to tackle the house paint on my Beetle tomorrow with Easy-Off and a plastic scouring pad. Worked great on my truck. _________________ 1985 Diesel Jetta Coupe (temporarily retired at

I use GOOF OFF's "Graffiti Remover" in the body shop ALL the time. It works wonders. We get people in the shop all the time who want a temp. fix after shmucking poles, garage doors, or other painted things and this stuff takes that off with ease.
These are all on new base/clear cars, so I dont know if it would work on a single stage or not. I use it in place of lacquer thinner, because that will soften the paint and with time it will dull out.. I dont THINK graffiti remover does that, but I dont usually have these vehicles back in the shop a few months later, so I couldnt know for sure. _________________ 64 Plymouth Belvedere

I had a Jeep with a Glidden (house paint) paint job. I used a 2200psi pressure washer w/ hot water. Once it got under the paint it lifted it off in sheets. _________________ Jerry...
