words cant express how envious i am of this car!!!!!! this is my all time favorite vw variant, something very enchanting about the split window coupe
i actually like it more than the gmund coupes, gullwings, and even the first 550 coupes
one question and i dont mean this to be a diss in any way,i really dont know, were these cars this "straight" from the coachbuilder? whatever the answer.........bravo,it looks fabulous! _________________ Have a great day! |

Hi,
as some you asked here are some pics from inside the car.
A big thanks go toward Mr. Bokemeier and especial to Marcus Raeke ( he did almost all the upholsty ) very nice.
The front seats and the door panels are the orginal from 1951 ! Marcus overworked them so they could be saved.

I like the Perohaus steering column surround! Top switch is for powering on the relays for accessory driving lights. Left stalk is for blinkers... right stalk switches between relays for town or country horns(up is town... down is country. |

A stunning car. Who would think such an unusual and compelling car could have such humble roots? _________________ Central Jersey VW Society

What great thank that you will spend a stock 1952 Porsche pre-A Engine for the car - if you think that the original maching numbered 24,5 hp engine is a shame in your mind. If you know the story behind the real first VW Beeskow, which was based on an old and rusty Army beetle, a Beeskow based on a complete new chassis with new technology was a high step for the future. The identical coloured convertible has an original 1500S Engine inside. But if you ever have driven a Rometsch, you find out, that it is a glamoured car for Show, shine and cruising - and not a sportivity car. And the people who ordered a Denzel- Okrasa or Porsche engine just did it for the show. The first owner of the Coupé just ordered it with a regular engine so this engine belongs to the car for the past 59 years. But if you have an old maching Porsche engine for free, we can talk about the shamy engine inside the car.
What is the car you own and what kind of engine does it have inside ? |

Seriously? It was supposed to be a compliment. Not unsimilar to many that think a Karmann Ghia should have had a more sporty engine from the factory.

I agree with you - a nice engine with a little bit more power sounds very interesting to that car and is more that what you expact inside instead of that original "tuck tuck". I didn't thought that your comment was bad but the Translation I have learned at school for shame sounds more bad tasty than you mean in your mothers language. And if you ever asked my english teacher, the never would believe that I have ever learned any english words. But if you really have a better engine for a fair price, Let's talk about it to stop the shame
I had the luck to drive several Rometsch cars and especially inside of a Banana, you are sitting so deep and next to the road that the speed you feel is much higher than the real one. You don't need a poweful engine for the ride - but certainly you feel better if you have some more if you need it. |
