Wow only 2 people? We need more interest or it won't be worth doing.

I will probably be in the area this Sat evening. The wife wants to go to the racetrack and spend all (what little I have) on the slot machines.

a couple of monthes ago i started a VW club up here in Pittsburgh, PA area. the link is below.

it's a 3 1/2 hr drive but if there is enough VW that show up i might be able to convince some people to drive down for the day. the only problem i see is that it's only in the evening. if it was all day i could see it working out better...

good luck.. it's a great idea to get local VW's together..

Ok, so this is going to be happening in less than 2 weeks. There is a new retro mcdonalds here in Ranson. Should we have it there (cool photo possibilities) or the dairy queen?
Really looking forward to meeting some new vw people and thier vws.

Either joint would work as far as I'm concerned. Still thinkin' the 13th or 14th? I have tickets to a concert the 14th, but I still want to be there, if not this time, definitely the next one for sure. Gotta support the VW community.

Im down. Just gotta get the oil cooler fixed. But I'll be thereVW or not.

Summit point raceway is not to far away. May 1-3 is Jefferson 500 vintage race. Maybe we can get a caravan of cars. Last year I saw a real GT40 @ speed ! lotsa other cool cars also ,356's ,vintage road race bikes ,etc.

I'd love to bring the RHD out, but I am waiting on some parts for it. A little bit of a redesign in it for the spring, but alot of the parts haven't come in yet..... Plus the 21 window is out of commision for a little also getting a redesign.... maybe the next get together. The idea sounds great, and should be alot of fun...

That day and time works great for me, anyone else need it to be sooner or later than that?

Sounds like something we would be interested in once the weather breaks. Our fleet is hibernating for the winter and won't be putting their tires on the salt-laden roads until mid-April or until the weather changes for the better...
Shocked

I'll mark the post so we can remember to check it out then! Smile

I have been keeping up with this thread and am interested in attending. I am picking up a '67 fastback this weekend and would love to bring it. Smile

I guess I am a little confused about the date, time, and location of this meet. Confused

The date is March 14th, and every 2nd Sat of the month until the weather turns to crap again. It starts at 5-6pm, and I'm thinking the Dairy Queen in Ranson. It's on Mildred Street. I was also thinking of having everyone meet at my house before the cruise, get to know each other, work on any cars that need help, etc.

Perhaps we can make a whole weekend out of it for the people who camp. Dairy Queen in Ranson one day, and the Sonic in Winchester the next? I'd really like to meet some other people who have successfully started thier own VW club, and start or join one in this area.

BTW fastbacks are really cool... I've always wanted one. 67 is the best year too.

You don't have to come in a VW to attend.

Sounds cool,Charles Town/Ranson are basically my home town.

Beleive it or not, there is a pretty big scene locally, particularly in the Hagerstown Md area. I don't know if you knew, but there is a cruise-in at the Valley Mall, and at Longmeadow plaza (alternately) every Saturday night.

400+ plus cars, but the VWs show up in force,we're there almost every week. Ovals,a few splits (one turbo),9-sec street bug, early buses, etc. If you haven't,you should check it out this summer if you need a VW fix in between Ranson meets.
