I'm about to pull the windows out of my '88 in readiness for a repair and repaint.
I'm curious if that foam rubber filter in the vent behind the rear side windows can be cleaned. Will come out of its plastic cage? Or perhaps wash the whole thing and blow dry?
Mine looks like its got the full 20 years worth of dust, pollen, dandelion seeds and whatever in there. |

Hey, S&R -
I can't help you with the info; I'm just replying to bump your message back to the top. This is a question I want answered, too!

Not sure of the right way to clean them But I can tell you the wrong way.
I thur a set and an extra one in the dish washer and ran it on China setting. The foam was GONE form 2 of the and clean like new on the third.
Im not sure if there was a material change inbetween years ? I would try soking them in warm water and wool-light??? Would not recomend the dishwasher..
