Looks good! Don't be surprised if you are having fuel pressure issues though, that chrome regulator you have is about the shittiest thing on the market. |

Yeah I got it and after it came in I realized how cheap the damn thing is. It feels like it will break if you twist the dial too hard and I was looking at it and wondering on how it would do with the regulation if they couldn't even put it together sturdy on the outside. I'm actually looking into new FPR's now. got any suggestions on a good quality FPR?
Thanks for the compliments guys. I am sitting at home right now on convalescent leave from work because I just had surgery on my ankle. It's an injury I got in Iraq so luckily the Army is taking care of it for me. Long story short I was digging through the pics and I found a bunch that I didn't put up of different things I did along the way. I'm gonna upload them today and I think I'll post them up. _________________ Jason

Why are you running a regulator with that pump anyway, what's the psi rating? |

Jays -- IIRC it runs 5 PSI max and needs the regulator to dial it back to the 3.5ish PSI the carbs want to see. Like bashr said it is a facet pump.
bashr -- thanks for the tips and links, I'll look into those. _________________ Jason

I'd check to be sure, all the facet pumps I've run were without a regulator and depending on your motor/cam/heads/carbs, they couldn't keep up. You should be able to run it without the regulator at all. The car is turning out beautiful by the way! |

Yes I should have mentioned if you switch to that rotary pump I listed, you will not need a regulator.
Car is looking really good! |

Sorry no updates right now. I'm in a different state from the car so its mostly been put on hold other than when I can work on it when I go visit. I should be getting some more done on it in June when i head back for The Classic. Never fear though, the project isn't dead, its not being sold or anything like that. Life just really got in the way of this one. _________________ Jason

Ninja-
That car is badass! Top notch work, and much needed inspiration!
I can't wait to see it complete, and check it out at a local show once I get mine done. Keep up the excellent work, and THANK YOU FOR KEEPING ME, MY WIFE, MY KIDS, AND MY COUNTRY SAFE! _________________ In progress 1960 rhd ragtop

Being that I have a '58 Diamond Grey project on the back burner. As I read through the early pages of this thread I kept thinking to myself, how in the hell have I missed this car at The Classic or any other show around here!
As stated many times so far, beautiful work and gorgeous car! I look forward to seeing it next weekend (we all hope ). I may have to get that paint formula from you. I can't imagine all the different variation out there of this color. _________________ 1959 Ragtop Beetle - sold

Well I hate to break your heart, but the car won't be at this year's classic either. It just flat out isn't done yet and still has a couple of fairly major things and bunch of little detail stuff that still needs to be done one the car. I was going to be at the classic but due to time issues I won't be there this year...
So with that all said I should be back in California around July for a few weeks and I'm planning on getting a few more things knocked out on the car while I'm there. I figure if I keep plugging away at it like this I might be able to make next year's show season.... maybe. _________________ Jason
