Cool pic. Complete chassis, & complete shortside sections, right? two or three 23w. RHS looks a bit chaotic

Nordhoff, 09 Oct 1954. I'll take that Standard

I think the next 3 are 1953. Lots of Panels and Single Cabs, couple of Kombis, no 23w

this pic just interests me to death. ive probably spent 30 mins staring at it.

which busses, in this pic, are the dove blue ones?
say for instance, starting in the right bottom corner, we have a singlecab...what color is that? at first, i would have said dove, the more i look at it, its WAY too dark for dove, id say the 3 busses just behind it, are all dove blue.
then compare that to the left side.....what color are the first 2 busses closest to us? they are damn dark. then the 3rd one in, seems to be a dove blue bus, then 2 more dark ass shiny busses, and a brown beige standard.
then look behing that bb std, are those busses being painted still, or is that a white panel? Shocked
take a close look at the 3 racks of pressed bumpers down there in the middle too. Drool
i could go on, but thats enough. i want to see what you guys think of this first. Smile

best i can tell, those have to be chestnut brown, those dark busses. but, a chestnut singlecab, and panel?...thats bad ass. depends on what year this is too i guess.

In my opinion it's all lighting and shading from the overhead glass panes and everything Commercial is Dove Blue.

I think the first Panelvan in on the left, in the rows of Buses that are raised up, is in Primer.
List:
Single Cab in Blue
Kombi in Blue
Panelvan in Primer
Single Cab in Blue

IF..thats the case. then explain the row on the right, of busses on their wheels.
if this first singlecab is dove blue... then what are the rest of those behind it?
by color options available at that time, almost that entire row would have to be a grey shade.
Reason i originally said i think those dark busses are brown, is.... take a close look at that BB standard in the raised row, now compare its top half...brownbeige, with the other raised busses.... dove blue isnt even close to as dark as brownbeige.
I did also contemplate that panel being in primer, its not shiny at all.
Other odd thing, look at this singlecab down here in front of us, it is fricken dark, dove isnt that dark, look at how the white on the bumper contrasts with the other color on the bumper and body.... dove and white look so smooth, that is a stark ass contrast.
....see what im seein now.

OH man!!!!
now i see much clearer. thanks for the rescan. check this shiz.

look at the right row. that first single IS some dark ass color. check this lineup, first single has to be a brown, then behind it a grey kombi, then behind that,, a dove blue singlecab, behind that, another grey kombi, THEN, a 23 window.
see..more chestnut brown closer to this line. your thoughts please....

10th bus back right row is a sunroof std. Shocked

zoomed it way in, look at the steering wheel on the dark singlecab right in front of us, compare it to the bus behind it... white steering wheel in a singlecab? it has to be brown. bus behind it, black wheel in a blue bus..
no, shade in a pic doesnt change the color that much.

could some of them still be in primer ? I thought you could order a bus in primer. the third bus to the left on the hoist appears to be in primer its dull and the bumpers aren't detailed some of these are pretty shiny....I'm confused also the single cab is really dark.... Confused

The Single Cab is Dove Blue in my opinion. It's just in the shade. The white on the bumper is darker too. The Kombis behind it are in the light and Dove Blue too.

ooohh the 3rd bus back, right side, is a RHD singlecab, look at the mirrors, mounted on all those busses, and folded in, then look at that single, mirror and steering wheel on opposite side. Smile noice!
