I have pulled dent in a similar repair.
Attach a pulling clamp (the type that tightens with pulling force) at lip chained to a redhead concrete bolt in cement floor.
Used a floor jack in a strong location to lift vehicle to pull dent.

Not for everyone but worked for.

This is a great suggestion and the route I'd take if I was doing it at home ^^

When I worked at an automotive frame/alignment shop a couple of decades ago, I'd do a similar type of pull/repair. We had body clamps that went on the body seem. We also had different pieces of metal that we'd weld onto a body/frame section that needed to be pulled down. Our 60's style frame rack had sliding beams under it. I'd use a porta-power that pulled in and pull that right out while working the surrounding metal back into place.

Think I can just ask a frame shop to pull the seam and hit the rocker back in shape without me having to paint anything above the seam?

Absolutely. The clamp is going to damage the paint on the seam but it would pull back out like butter.. Very Happy

My ride home from Bulli Brigade was pretty rough due to drivetrain vibration. (That's what I was trying to inspect when I jacked up my bus. I really jacked it up)

My fuel tank was also leaking from somewhere, so I decided to pull the engine and inspect and check out everything....

Then I removed the driver's side rear tire and found this Shocked Shocked

Tread separation and bulging on the tread...the tire is severely deformed!

I dropped of the fuel tank for the guy to pressure test it and he just picks it up and says, here is your leak right here... right under the filler neck where it enters the tank...
So he welded and painted it for $30...

My passenger side axle tube needed to be replaced, but I picked up the wrong type as I really need a tube with the short end casting...
My old one is at the bottom.

2 things:

Might want to move that hot start relay into the engine compartment so your bus will not drive away on the starter motor.

Where are your rear soft lines for the brakes?

Drive away on the starter motor? Wait, I don't get it...

The soft lines are right at the edge of the pic out of the shot😀

i think putting the relais inside where it is better protected makes sense, since it would not take much juice to fire up the starter, and your bus WILL drive off in first....

.

If the relay get water in it , that can cause it to engage and the starter will spin. If it is in gear it will "drive" till the battery goes flat or the vehicle hits something.

Your soft line is supposed to go between the bracket on the frame that hard line is going thru and a bracket that is welded or clamped to the axle tube.

May be OK the way you have the soft line. Keep an eye on it, could be getting extra workout with the current location.

It's been like that since the bus was restored about 20 years ago.

I see what you mean.
The stock location has the flex hose farther away from the wheel where axle swing travel angle is smaller so the line flexes less.

Where mine is (PO put it that way), the axle swing travel distance would be larger.

I guess if my bus was stock height and climbing curbs an such the brake hose could get more stress, but even when I use a jack to force the axle lower, it has been OK.
Thanks

Also, it also seems that if I do a swing axle conversion, this way may be better. Question

I picked up a new axle tube since my bearing cap bolt threads are messed up, and realized my axle tubes are not stock and have been extended..

You probably already know this and have a reason to do it differently, but the screws on your boot should be facing forward or backwards, not up or down. Because of the up and down movement, and flexing, etc

Yes I do.
My bus is lowered.
I decided that my axle does not flex enough for me to need to mount it sideways and deal with risk of leaking.
My driver's side has not leaked since I put it on years ago.

My new muffler from Wolfsburg West required some awkward filing to get the exhaust tip to fit all the way in.

The bottom section of the inlet pipe had welding buildup that I had to file down
